Lecture
2 Introduction to Composition
Summary of my lecture here :
This article introduces basic compositional concepts for digital photography and photo editing:
1. It emphasises the importance of focal points and how layers and proportions can be used to engage the viewer;
2. It explores the concept of asymmetrical balance and how elemental ‘weights’ can be used to enhance the aesthetic appeal of an image;
3. It discusses how thirds and white space techniques to enhance the naturalness and clarity of a design.
- A good composition requires a strong focal point to draw the viewer's eye.
- A sense of hierarchy can be effectively conveyed by adjusting the scale of the elements.

- Asymmetrical balance is achieved by considering the weight of each element.
- White space can help balance complexity and improve design clarity.
- The rule of thirds divides an image into nine parts, creating a natural composition.
- In a selfie, the horizon should be in the top or bottom third of the frame.
- Knowing and using these basic design rules can help you take better photos and designs.
Exercise
Week 2 INTRO TO COMPOSITION : Choose and identify your collage's design elements to be cut out and compose it into your own concept & story
I buy magazines about fashion and human research, adding the two together is not a simple task, but it was a wonderful experiment, some of the design of fashion magazines put in the layout of science magazines instead of the stronger emphasis on the content I want to express!
Choose the best design and paste it
My teacher helped me choose this one, he said it was more visually appealing and had a unified subject matter, I accepted my teacher's advice and I like the design just as much, with the big G running across the top and bottom, I like the way it cuts through the image.
Feedback
My teacher said that my ideas were good but my presentation was lacking, that I lacked the punchline that would grab people's attention.
REFLECTION:
Experience:Firstly, I need to decide on the theme I need for the selected magazine, then pick the theme I need from the selected magazine, scissors to cut according to the edges, then it's a matter of collage according to the idea to make a layered photo
Observations:During the production process, I found that imagination and the ability to lay out the picture are very important; without these two abilities, many of the following steps will be trapped. We also have to admit that the human imagination is very rich!
Findings :I've improved my imagination and picture layout skills, and most importantly, my information sifting skills, which allow me to select the material I want to
