Lecture

W4: LECTURE: INTRO TO PHOTOSHOP 3

Summary of my lecture here :
Adjustment layers in PS are a non-destructive editing tool that allows you to easily modify the colours and tones of an image without affecting the original pixels. This tool is very important in PS and also explains the functions of several commonly used adjustment layers and filters and their applications.
  • Adjustment Layers is a very useful non-destructive image editing tool in PS. It allows the user to modify or restore the original image at any time.
  • Whenever an adjustment layer is added, a new layer is generated above the image and the Properties panel for the specific adjustment type pops up.

  • You can use the Brightness/Contrast tool to adjust the brightness and contrast of an image to make the highlights and shadows look their best.
  • The Levels tool is great for adjusting the tonal values of an image's shadows, midtones, and highlights. It's one of the most commonly used tools in the Adjustments panel.
  • With Selective Color Adjustment Layers, you can modify the amount of a particular primary color without affecting the other primary colors in the image
Exercise

week 4 :PRACTICAL: DIGITAL COLLAGE/PROJECT 1B: Digital Collage review

I used stacked layers in the process, one layer on top of the material, and used the selection tool to frame the main body of the image that needed to be cropped

Feedback

My teacher said that my formatting was a bit messy and that this would affect my grade, so I hope I can improve it

REFLECTION:

Experience:To change the colours of the screen using the last selected image, I used the filter tool and adjusted the screen colours.

ObservationsUsing the filter module without adjusting the colour distribution can easily lead to a loss of colour in the image.

Findings :Different colours give different visual experiences
